E-liquid is made from water, alcohol, flavourings and nicotine. It’s a harmless solution that allows you to inhale nicotine as opposed to smoking.
Nicotine
The addictive stimulant found in cigarettes. E-liquid contains varying amounts of nicotine to help people quit smoking.
Water
Water is used as the base ingredient to ensure the liquid can easily be absorbed by a wick.
Propylene glycol (PG)
A tasteless, colourless alcohol. It’s thin and runny, so it gets absorbed by the wick quicker and doesn’t last as long as VG. It produces a stronger throat-hit than VG, similar to tobacco cigarette
Vegetable glycerin (VG)
A sweet alcohol which is non-toxic and safe to eat. It’s used in cough syrups, beauty creams and food flavourings. It’s thicker than PG, so lasts much longer when vaped. It’s smoother to vape and also produces big thick clouds. A downside is that gunk builds up quickly, so your e-cig needs cleaning more often.
Flavourings
This is what gives e-liquid its taste.
Types of E-liquid
There are 2 main ways you can buy e-liquid. TPD or Shortfills. TPD are the 10ml all in one solution wich already contain nicotain premixed for you, they tend to be an expensive way to buy e-liquid.
Shortfills are the large 60/120ml bottles you see which contain no nicotine but leave space for nic shots to be added. These are the most cost effective way to buy your e-liquid.
